Cricket News Live Score: Saba Karim, the former India wicketkeeper-batter and ex-member of the senior men’s selection committee, feels that time is ripe for the Indian team think-tank to develop new and young finishers.

India cricket news has confirmed since the former Indian captain concluded his International career, the Indian team management has been looking for someone to assume the finisher’s role in the long run. In the T20 setup, there’s Hardik Pandya but beyond him, there’s hardly anyone. Dinesh Karthik has made an impeccable comeback but the cricketer is 37 now with no guarantee of the future.
Karim suggested that young cricketers who are capable and eager and have the confidence to play under pressure such as Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan should be moulded into future finishers.
During an appearance on Sports18’s ‘Sports Over The Top,’ Saba mentioned Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan as potential future finishers.
“I believe the moment has come to nurture such young cricketers.” Because, as you may know, most IPL clubs prefer to have an overseas batter in that position. So, you may have David Miller, Tim David, and Rovman Powell, which suggests that the fresh talent coming through from the Indian domestic circuit is still not ready to manage the pressure and perform on a continuous basis,” Saba Karim remarked.
“Both of the names you’ve chosen, Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia, are young. They have the ability, but they must be a lot more consistent. But, in order to do so, we need to put in additional hours so that they can reach that level of international excellence,” he continued.
